Singular Behavior of Electric Field of High-Contrast Concentrated Composites
نویسنده
چکیده
A heterogeneous medium of constituents with vastly different mechanical properties, whose inhomogeneities are in close proximity to each other, is considered. The gradient of the solution to the corresponding problem exhibits singular behavior (blow up) with respect to the distance between inhomogeneities. This paper introduces a concise procedure for capturing the leading term of the gradient’s asymptotics precisely, which is based on thorough study of the system’s energy. The methodology developed in the paper allows for a straightforward generalization to heterogeneous media with a nonlinear constitutive description.

Electrospinning of Polyacrylonitrile Nanofibers and Simulation of Electric Field via Finite Element method
Objective(s): Since the electric field is the main driving force in electrospinning systems, the modeling and analysis of electric field distribution are critical to the nanofibers production. The aim of this study was modeling of the electric field and investigating the various parameters on polyacrylonitrile (PAN) nanofibers morphology and diameter. Methods:</st...
متن کاملStudy of leaky dielectric droplet behavior under an electric field: effect of viscosity and electric conductivity ratios
In this research, hydrodynamic behavior of a leaky dielectric droplet under an electric field is simulated. The level set method is used for interface tracking and the ghost fluid method is used for modeling discontinuous quantities at interface. Using Taylor’s leaky dielectric model, electric field and electric force at the interface is calculated. Simulation results show the droplet deformati...
متن کاملElectrical properties of UHMWPE/graphite nanoplates composites obtained by in-situ polymerization method
There are described nanocomposites based on ultra high molecular weight polyethylene and graphite nanoplates prepared by in-situ polymerization method. It is carried out a comprehensive study of electric properties of these composites, including direct current (dc) and alternating current (ac) properties. There is explored dependence of the conductivity and dielectric permeability on filler con...
متن کاملInfinite-contrast periodic composites with strongly nonlinear behavior: effective-medium theory versus full-field simulations
This paper presents a combined numerical-theoretical study of the macroscopic behavior and local field distributions in a special class of two-dimensional periodic composites with viscoplastic phases. The emphasis is on strongly nonlinear materials containing pores or rigid inclusions. Full-field numerical simulations are carried out using a Fast-Fourier Transform algorithm [H. Moulinec, P. Suq...
متن کاملCracked piezoelectric layer bounded between two orthotropic half-planes
This paper deals with the behavior of anti-plane shear crack in a piezoelectric layer bounded between two orthotropic half-planes within the framework of linear electroelasticity. The crack surfaces are assumed to be permeable or impermeable. The analysis is based on the stress fields caused by Volterra-type screw dislocation in the medium. Fourier transforms are used to reduce the dislocation ...
